NORTH WALES — On Thursday, June 9, Garden of Health Food Bank officially opened its new warehouse headquarters in North Wales.
“The space will allow them to better serve Montgomery and Bucks counties. The non-profit supplies local food pantries with fresh produce and healthy foods, which are not often donated on a regular basis,” a release said. “Additional plans for the space include walk-in refrigeration, aquaponics gardening, and room for community events and educational programming.”
“This space will allow us to end hunger in Montgomery County while supplying healthy food. What does that mean? It means that we will have enough food to feed everyone who is hungry in Montgomery County while working with our partners to figure out how to reach everyone,” said Garden of Health Inc. Food Bank Founder and Chief Operations Officer Carol Bauer.
Previously, the organization was housed in a 1,700-SF business center in Lansdale. Now with a larger space, they can receive donations of foods from suppliers and distributors that they were unable to do in the past.
“Every day, food leaves our county and opportunities come to us that we can’t take advantage of because we don’t have the facilities to store the food or the funds to purchase it. This is where donations can help us change this. Join us in ending hunger by making a donation today,” Bauer said.
In 2021, Garden of Health distributed more than 383,000 pounds of healthy food to more than 35 food pantries and community organizations in Bucks and Montgomery counties.
Garden of Health Inc. Food Bank is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2015, dedicated to distributing gluten-free, allergen-friendly foods and fresh produce to those in need.
