A viral epidemic disease, influenza immobilizes tens of millions of people around the world each year. It starts first with a widespread pain throughout the body, chills, headache and variable fever. Natural Recipes to Fight against Colds and Flu

1. Stay Warm, Drink Lots and Keep the Air Moistened

Take two quarts of liquid per day, if possible, preferably in form of vegetable juices and fruit juices. Caution: Avoid secondary bacterial infections that can lead to terrible pneumonia. Eight days off from work without leaving your home is the best way not to take that risk.

Create humidity in the house. If you do not have a humidifier at home, use containers filled with hot water. To feel better all night, breathe in the steam (from the kettle or the shower) for about fifteen minutes before bedtime.

2. The syrup of violets

The violet syrup soothes cough. Give one tablespoon per day for children and up to four for adults. Ingredients: 50 g of violet petals, 0.5 liter of water, 600 g of sugar. Infuse the petals in boiling water. Leave, covered overnight. Pass it through a cloth extracting the juice, strain. Add sugar syrup and let it reduce over low heat.

3. Cleaning the nose

For a runny nose, put a few drops of saline (Hydrasense) in each nostril, three times a day to clean well. Blow your nose. If you do not have the serum, then melt a handful of coarse salt in a glass filled with boiling water. Put a few drops into each nostril when the liquid is lukewarm.

4. The four flower tea chest

The flowers that are pectoral are seven in number: purple, marshmallow, antennal, coltsfoot, poppy, purple, white broth. The herbal tea that is used to treat colds is made from four of these plants. Recommended for children, it calms the cough, sputum and facilitates sleep.

Ingredients: 30 g of flowers of mullein, 20 g of poppy flowers, 10 grams of purple flowers, 20 g of coltsfoot, 1 liter of water, and honey. Infuse the flowers in a quart of boiling water. Sweeten with honey to taste.

5. Wild thyme Inhalation

Thyme is renowned for its antiseptic properties. It is used for inhalation to prevent colds prevent it from affecting the bronchi. Ingredients: 20 g of dried flowering stems of thyme, 1 liter of water. Leave to infuse the thyme in a saucepan filled with a liter of boiling water. Place your head over the pan, cover yourself with a towel and inhale the fumes for 10 minutes.
